LEGENDARY by L.H. Nicole
Aliana Fagan spent her childhood traveling the world, dreaming of legendary heroes and mythical lands. But after the sudden death of her parents, she hides behind the safety of her camera and her art until a vivid dream has her to digging into her father’s research about Avalon and Camelot. She is soon hurled into a magical realm by forces she thought were only the stuff of fairy tales, and finds herself thrown into an adventure she could have never imagined. And nearly everything she thought she knew about the Arthurian legends is wrong.
The independent eighteen-year-old is shocked to find that the people of Avalon think that she is the Destined One, the only person who can summon King Arthur back to life. Most surprising of all is that it’s up to her to lead the Knights of the Round Table on an epic quest—an adventure that will transport them across the seven magic realms to reclaim all that has been lost so they can defeat the evil Mordrid for good. First, she must bring the ancient warriors into her world and reunite them with their lost brothers. But chaperoning legendary knights-with-a-chivalry-complex is a constant challenge, and she certainly never thought she’d be caught between her intense feelings for the noble Sir Galahad and her growing friendship with the King.
To fulfill the prophecy, Aliana will have to discover the meaning of friendship, bravery, loyalty, true love, and forgiveness. But can she do it all in time to save the realms from Mordrid’s impending Armageddon?
We ready? Drum roll please
OMG!!! It is AMAZEBALLS! Not gonna find many like this!
Legendary will be available to buy this coming Tuesday Feb 25, 2014! Be sure to check it out.

Hello my lovelies! I realize it has been quite a while since my last post and I greatly apologize for my absence. But I think you will understand why when I tell you that it was because I am finishing writing book 2 of my Legendary Saga and getting everything in line with my publisher for the release of Legendary! I am so thrilled it is less than 3 weeks away! February 25, 2014.
In addition to writing and planning for the release of my first book, I have also been having conversations with my dear friend, MissLittleBookAddict, and her newest addition to her blog- a YA blogger posting under the moniker of DynoMoon. Now I have made it know that I will never give a “review” of a book I read because of the fact that, as an author, I am a bit more picky of a reader, and on the off chance that I pick up a book I don’t like, I don’t want to have to disparage a fellow author’s work. BUT after reading a few of DynoMoon’s reviews– I love them– so I’ve decided that I will most likely re-post those reviews here as well, with the permission of MLBA of course.
Now on to the next order of business. I am apart of the YARWA-a young adult chapter of the RWA and we are thrilled to announce our first chapter contest–The Rosemary contest. Here is the official post with all the information, I highly encourage all un published authors of YA and NA to enter.
The YARWA Chapter is proud to announce the Rosemary Contest, the only RWA contest specifically for YA writers in all genres.
Final round judges will be two editors and an agent in each of the following categories:
YA Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal
YA Fusion (Any YA novel that doesn’t fit into one of the above categories.)
Romantic Elements in the novel are NOT required to enter this contest.
Eligibility: Authors must not be published or contracted to be published in book-length fiction (40,000 words or more) in the genre of Young Adult Fiction, which for purposes of this contest includes New Adult fiction.
In addition, any author who has been published but not contracted in their chosen category for a minimum of five (5) years may also enter this contest.
Fee: $15 YARWA members/$25 non-members
For a complete list of rules, visit http://yarwa.com/contest-2014/
Questions? Please contact Contest Coordinator Rebecca Lynn at YARWAContestCoord [at] gmail [dot] com.
I love this contest for many reasons, and not only because I am on the contest committee and I had a hand in helping to organize/run this one of a kind contest. But because we have branched out to include New Adult in our contest and the YA manuscripts DO NOT need to have romance as the core of the story. Something that many other major contests require and keep many great authors from entering their stories. We are a totally unique contest and have managed to get many great authors, agents and editors as the judges for The Rosemary Contest.
Till next time lovelies!

Joseph Beth’s Booksellers— Hands down the BEST bookstore I have ever had the pleasure of camping out in! This particular business has been in Cincinnati for decades and, back in my high school years, provided me with a location to sit and read what ever YA book I found on their shelves that interested me.
What I find most interesting is that all those year ago, the YA section consisted of only 2 of the book shelves you see in the photo above. My my my how the years have changed the landscape of YA and NA books. According to a very nice bookseller that works there, the YA section is the 3rd largest in their entire store. AMAZING! And here’s an even more wonderful, cherished and fantastical fact: Joseph Beth’s shelves more than just YA books from the “big 5 book houses”; they also shelve books from small and independent press houses!!!
That is so beyond wonderful because my fantastic publisher–Omnific publishing–is a small press house and their books are sold through one of the distributors that Joseph Beth’s uses! AAAHHHH!!! I am so excited at the mere possibility of having my book Legendary stocked in their amazeballs YA section.
Now nothing is official yet, especially since my book does not release until Feb 25th. I just have to hope my amazing publisher and publicist can help me pull this off! Wish us luck 😉
I am hoping to have a special book review posted by a dear friend of mine. Her book blogger handle is Miss Little Book Addict’s House of Books. So if you are interested check back around Wednesday and check it out.
Her eyes, those sparkling emeralds, had been my only companion since the Fae queen cast her spell on me. Her voice, her laugh mesmerized me. I wanted to draw her in close, to feel her lips on mine. Her sweet taste is still on my lips. Yet a memory- a ghost- is holding me back. ~Arthur
Without giving away any spoilers I will say that this is one of my FAVORITE parts of this book. It is tied with two other scenes, but it is still really good. I love fairy tales- part of the reason I’m so in love with the King Arthur stories- and I want every character to have their chance at a happy ending. They just need to step up…….be able to earn it, first.
But whenever anyone takes on a tale that is so well known they need to make it their own. I have done just that. There are a lot of changes, both major and minor, because, honestly, there where things about the legends I just didn’t like. So I did what I have done since I was a tween and I started writing Sailor Moon fan fiction: I changed what I didn’t like to something that I did.
Talking about those differences, I will tell you that my King Arthur is not a fair haired and blue eyed…… blind fool……. that several stories, movies, and tv shows have made him out to be. Now don’t get all up in arms about the blind fool thing- it’s kinda true. You know you’ve thought it before o_O. This blindness is one of the things that drove me crazy! I can remember asking my parents why he didn’t know what was happening right under his nose. Mordrid and Morgana’s plotting, Lancelot and Guinevere’s cheating…… the list goes on.
But there are still many traits he possesses that I love: his compassion, sense of justice, honor, loyalty, chivalry, his love for his Knights and the people of Camelot. I’ve kept all of those amazing things, added in a wicked cleverness, an impossible to resist charisma, and dropped the annoying blindness. BUT no one is perfect, not even a King. One of his biggest flaws is that he is more than willing to play the emotional martyr for his brother knights.
I will leave you to interpret this little juicy morsel however you want, but one thing for sure; I love making something that could easily be considered a strength into a weakness. And Arthur has more than just this one!
As Legendary goes on I think it will be interesting to see why he is that way and to see if he can grow and become better than his flaws. But to find out you’ll have to read Legendary when it comes out in late February 2014:-)
Till the next sketch I leave you with two of the best influences to Arthur’s look. Just imagine a photo-morph combination of these two hottie. (And yes, that is Jason David Frank, forever known as the best- and most colorful- power ranger ever!) And for those who have ever watched Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers, you will notice several of Tommy’s traits in Arthur. What can I say…… Tommy Oliver, the white ranger, (and green and red and black ranger) was my first fictional crush.
