For this hunt I am hosting LISA VOISON and her fantasy book THE WARRIOR PROPHET
How far would you go to save the one you love?
Mia Crawford is a prophet.
She can see angels. She also sees demons. Everywhere.
The angels are preparing for war to get her fallen angel boyfriend, Michael, back.
A war that could take years.
Haunted by visions of Michael’s soul being tortured, Mia can’t rest until she knows he’s safe.
To save him, she must make an impossible journey through Hell with the one person she prayed she’d never see again.
SPECIAL CONTENT: Deleted prologue from The Warrior Prophet
This is an old character sketch I did of Damiel, the villain from The Watcher. Since he returns in The Warrior Prophet, I wrote this to help me find his voice. I was considering using it as a prologue, but it was never fleshed out into a real scene. It’s pretty rough, but that’s what deleted scenes are all about.
I hope you enjoy it. I had a lot of fun writing him!
There’s a special place in Heaven for the fallen Watchers. A secured quarantine they keep stark and constantly lit. No room for shadows in Heaven. Not even my own. Whoever designed this place must have figured we’d had enough of the dark. Perhaps they didn’t trust what one of us would do with only shadows for company.
Nobody comes to see me. There’s nothing left but me and my shattered conscience.
You’d think being near Heaven would be welcoming, but it’s so much colder than I remember. Cold enough to make me miss the fires of Hell, or at least a body to possess. Heaven’s warmth comes from the constant presence of the Divine. But that brings me no comfort. Not when I haven’t been able to feel it for millennia. Hell burned it right out of me, an anti-purification, or corruption, on a different scale.
Speaking of Hell, someone once said it was so beautiful it would torment an angel to insanity. That’s the part of Hell I know. The breeding ground of sin.
And where did this infection of sin come from, you ask?
You know that in the beginning was darkness. But when God said ‘let there be light’ where do you think the darkness went?
It hid, waiting in every shadow, craving its revenge. And despite all of God’s mighty warriors, it cannot be vanquished. Not one of us, no human nor angel, is completely free of its grasp.
Lisa Voisin is an author of young adult and fantasy fiction, and a graduate of SFU’s The Writer’s Studio. In her spare time, Lisa leads a writing group for teens and teaches meditation in her hometown of North Vancouver, B.C.
Sounds like an interesting series! Take the time to check it out after you enter the extra giveaway I’m running! To be eligible for the grand prize on #TeamGold you need to remember the number 32 before you jump to AMY CHRISTINE PARKER‘s page to continue the hunt!
Happy sleuthing 🙂
I know it’s been a while but like usual life has kept me on the go and go and go and go…………But I love it and wouldn’t change it for anything (except maybe have an extra hour or two in the day? –Can we make that happen Father Time?)
It’s February and that’s always a great month for me mostly because here are several very special dates that happen in this wonderful month. First is my Birthday 🙂 but most important is LEGENDARY’S birthday!!!
That’s right Feb 24th my first book ever published turns 3 years old!!! LEGENDARY was first published in 2014 and will always have a very special place in my heart.
I have always told everyone my love for King Arthur legends started when I was little, and that’s still true, but my real inspiration to finally put the story of Aliana, Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table to paper was the ever wonderful show MERLIN. That blessed show opened my eyes and helped me put the stories I loved into a new light and gave a voice to the characters I adore.
No, there’s no surprise party BUT I am going to give you a very special extra 🙂
When I first started posting about Legendary I did a bunch of character profiles and sketches and I want to celebrate those first posts by adding on to one of my fav characters: the ever over protective and HOT Sir Galahad! <3
I did not know from the start who Aliana would end up with, and if you haven’t read A KING WILL RISE I’m not going to spoil it so don’t even ask. But I remember binging MERLIN while I was writing the first scene where Aliana meets Galahad and I will never forget the scene that was on at that same moment:
That’s right I was watching the first episode where Gawain joined the cast and his image was one that resonated in my overall view of Sir Galahad. I’m not normally a whisker fan but on Eoin I’ll take it!! LOL.
In writing my new series I’ve found it’s hard for me to totally get away from the vision of Galahad so I’ve taken to keeping character pictures of my new leading men everywhere so I keep them from tying together. BUT I’ve noticed that with all my male heroes I tend to find the ones that share several similar qualities. I guess it’s just the type I attract ;P
Even though I no longer live in VA I will be returning for a beautiful weekend in April for the Roanoke Author Invasion where I’ll join 99 other great authors for this yearly Indie book signing! I’m bringing a limited number of books so be sure to pre-order your copies if you are able to join us!
The link to the form is right here –>https://goo.gl/forms/nzwTtM9WVPvYHDKQ2
As a bonus for pre-ordering I will be giving special discounted prices on each book and a bundle of all 4 books that will include a very special piece of jewelry and an exclusive swag pack!

Twas the eve of A KING WILL RISE release and all through the house the only creature stirring was the reader and their device waiting for the stroke of midnight on December 27th……… Before you enter the book world of A KING WILL RISE tomorrow enter the Realm of Atlantis with this last and final teaser for Aliana and her new Knights of the Round Table. Quite an end to an epic story that will stay with you (IMHO) LOL.
I’ve also got a very special giveaway going on in which 2 lucky winners will get a signed ARC of A KING WILL RISE! One of those two will also get a $15 gift card to the book retailer of their choice 🙂 Enter below!
Out of the corner of her eye, Aliana saw Dawn step to Arthur’s side as Wade made a move to grab her but missed.
“Why are you even upset that we are here? Surely plenty of people use this gate into Atlantis.”
“D, what are you doing?” Aliana stood tense as she started to gather her magic to open the portal, throwing up veils as she slowly corralled together the power they needed. The freckled girl didn’t answer; her focus on the Ruby Dragon. Strangely, the Dragon seemed fascinated by her boldness.
A thoughtful rumble came from the red beast. “Indeed, many do, but they have manners enough to offer up payment first.” His feline style nose twitched, his white eyes illuminating a little brighter. “Hmm, a Halfling. How interesting you are, little Nymph.”
Wade and Owen took cautious steps closer, their movements slow. If the Dragon did notice anything but Dawn, he didn’t let on.
Aliana prayed her friend knew what she was doing.
Dawn kept her hands at her side, palms out. “You have to believe us. We didn’t know you were here. And if you hadn’t just dropped out of the air like a deflating Zeppelin, we wouldn’t have felt the need to defend ourselves.”
Growling laughter shocked all of them. “What is your name, little Nymph? I find you most amusing.”
Dawn went pale, looking to Arthur briefly before responding. The golden king nodded once. “My name’s Dawn.”
Aliana glanced at Galahad, her stomach twisting and flipping. This situation could go south at any second. She pulled on the elemental magic faster, cool sweat dotting the back of her neck.
“It would appear we all have made misjudgments today, DragonLord,” Arthur said casually moving closer to Dawn. Even with Excalibur lowered, Aliana knew he could go battle ready in a split second. “What price would you ask for allowing us to use this gate?”
Ever so slowly, like a floating kite, the Ruby Dragon slithered closer to them, his eyes still fixed on Dawn. “That depends. I am sure the former king of Camelot, and descendant of the Golden Dragon can afford quite a price.”
“If I still had the resources I had in Camelot, yes.” Arthur shrugged one shoulder. “If you demand your payment now, I am afraid we do not have much to offer. But, should you wait until we defeat the wizard Mordrid, you will be richly rewarded.”
“I have it,” Aliana said to Dagg. “What now? Do we wait to see what happens?”
“Yes,” came his immediate response. “Avoiding offending a Ruby Dragon is always the smartest—and safest—option, whenever possible.”
Aliana licked her lips, feeling the uncomfortable pressure of holding so much power for so long. Fortunately, her veils seemed to be in place still, but she wasn’t sure how much longer they could stall this Dragon.
“You make a fair offer, young king.” The Dragon’s large head tilted slightly, his eyes narrowing just a fraction. “But I am afraid credit is a human notion. I demand my payment now, and your halfling, this “Dawn,” is the payment I will take.”
“Like hell you will! I’m a person not a possession!”
There it is! I hope you’re ready to dive back in to the Legendary Universe to find out who will sit on Camelot’s throne: King Arthur or Mordrid.
Whose Colors Will You Fly?

a Rafflecopter giveaway
So this post will be greatly off topic from the A KING WILL RISE posts I’ve been doing, but I was just thinking about this while sitting at Earl of Sandwich having lunch before what I am sure will turn into a shopping trip I’ll regret.
I realize how much, until recently, I had been absent from social media and that I liked it! Almost to the point that I feel like I kinda wanted to destroy all social media and enjoy not feeling like I HAD to post about every stupid little thing I do during the day.
I fully admit I post plenty about my little #SirTigra but it’s not nearly as much as I would have if I still lived in DC. I realize now, a LOT of my social media posts came while I was bored at work and not feeling it. Or I was posting about the desserts my team was doing, which I am still very proud of!
Little known fact, to those not in “The Mouse’s” employ: we are not allowed to take pics back stage and we have to be very careful about what we post because of how easily things go cra-cra on social media. Plus everything you post, no matter the settings, is up for public consumption and dissection. I know people all over who have lost their jobs because of stupid things they posted.
I think a small part of me fears social media (how much it’s taken over EVERYTHING and how it can so easily be used to hurt or destroy something or someone). Another part of me respects it because of just how much it rules…everything and the good that can be accomplished with it (thought those stories are very few and far between). The last part of me things we should mandate a certain hours of the day (when we are not asleep) that we HAVE to be off line and actually interact with people, in person, face to face.
What a concept…..
I know, totally weird rent, but I was just think about it, and yes I realize the funniness of me posting about not loving social media on social media LOL
I just wish that all of us, including me, can find the right balance and realize that just because something is on the internet or social media doesn’t mean it’s right or true.
